The 14th Caribbean Foresters’ Meeting theme will be “Linking Conservation, Tourism and Sustainable Development in the Caribbean”. The objectives of this meeting will be to:
bring together senior members of the Forestry Departments within the region to discuss current environmental issues in the region.
provide opportunity for government officials representing the forestry sector to meet and share information with like-minded private-sector organizations, NGOs, international development agencies and academic institutions.
share information about the current community forestry activities in each Caribbean country.
gain familiarity of the host country.
discuss possibilities for future training in technical areas identified by the group.
disseminate technical information and publications.
promote opportunities for scientific research.
